Greenlight for longer semi-trailers

Great Britain’s roads introduces longer-semi trailers following legislation approval, from May 31^st 2023.

Trailer Resources Limited have supported the trial period by suppling the equipment across a range of industries from Pallet Networks to supermarkets.

Burt’s Snacks choose TRL to supply LST trailers, boosting economy within the food /beverage sector.

TRL also provided the longer double decks within Pallet Networks such as TPN, Palletforce & Palletline.

Pallet Network members Chiltern Transport found the additional space allows up to 8 additional pallets spaces, supporting their aim in achieving reduced road emissions.

It is expected that LSTs will create almost £1.4 billion in net economic benefits by ensuring more goods are carried on fewer vehicles, supporting productivity and boosting the economy.

Introducing LSTs is an important, easy and affordable measure to continue to reduce CO2 emissions from the haulage industry without significant technological and infrastructure development, as the government continues to work closely with the sector to ensure all new heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) are zero-emission by 2040.
